TAP is seeking to hire a Lead Reliability &Test Engineer to join our team If you are a highly motivated engineer who enjoys a challenging and dynamic environment where your contributions are both critical and valued, this company will provide you with the tools and opportunity to thrive.

The Lead Reliability & Test Engineer is responsible for developing, managing, and executing reliability plans, procedures, and tests on packaged circuits (“chips”), printed circuit boards (PCBs), and hardware systems to ensure these parts meet design requirements prior to being shipped and deployed. The successful candidate will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers in various disciplines, as well as program management, quality, and manufacturing personnel.

Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI w/ polygraph
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science (or related technical field)
  • 10+ Years of Experience
  • Familiarity with concepts surrounding accelerated life testing:  including failure mode determination, thermal cycling, temperature humidity bias testing, application of appropriate acceleration theory.
  • Familiarity with environmental screening test plans, which may include thermal shock, temperature cycle, acceleration test, mechanical shock, vibration, PIND test, fine/gross leak, burn-in, HTOL, HAST, CSAM, salt atmosphere, solderability, ESD test
  • Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and solving hardware, software, and test apparatus-related problems.
  • Experience with reading and understanding electrical schematics and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layouts.
  • Experience with hardware test system development and execution inclusive of test plan documentation, test coverage analysis/Requirements Verification Traceability Matrix (RVTM), and test case execution.
  • Experience processing and analyzing test data, developing conclusions, documenting results in written reports and presentations, and communicating outcomes verbally to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with common hardware test equipment (e.g., Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Multimeters, Power Supplies, etc.)
  • Experience in conducting mathematical/statistical analysis.
  • Experience planning and conducting failure analysis on electronic components and systems.
  • Familiarity with industry microelectronics standards (JEDEC, MIL)
  • Technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Make technical decisions with minimal oversight.
  • Develop and deliver communications to senior executive leadership and customers. 
Desired Qualifications:
  • MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science (or related technical field)
  • Experience developing and conducting design of experiments (DOE).
  • Experience with Boundary Scan test vector creation and testing via JTAG.
  • Experience with developing and executing test automation via various software packages (e.g., LabView, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with LINUX operating systems
  • Experience in developing accelerated life testing models including failure mode determination, thermal cycling, temperature humidity bias testing, application of appropriate acceleration theory.
  • Experience developing environmental screening test plans, which may include thermal shock, temperature cycle, acceleration test, mechanical shock, vibration, PIND test, fine/gross leak, burn-in, HTOL, HAST, CSAM, salt atmosphere, solderability, ESD test

**This position is contingent upon the successful completion of security processing and favorable acceptance onto the program by the Customer.**

Clearance Requirement: This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of a polygraph. Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government. Factors considered for a U.S. Government Security Clearance include, but are not limited to:
