Key Responsibilities

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be tasked with:
  • Monitoring and analyzing cyber events and incidents within information systems and networks with minimal supervision.
  • Supporting integrated and dynamic cyber defense by coordinating and maintaining security toolsets for continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization programs.
  • Establishing a framework for measuring and quantifying cyber risk in the marketplace.
  • Evaluating business strategies and requirements to determine security needs; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analyses; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration challenges; and preparing cost estimates.
  • Implementing security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; overseeing equipment and software installation and calibration; preparing preventive and reactive measures; managing keys; providing technical support; and maintaining documentation.
  • Verifying security systems through the development and implementation of test scripts, ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; and developing training programs.
  • Designing, developing, implementing, and integrating DoD IA architectures, systems, or components for use within computing, network, and enclave environments.
  • Ensuring the functionality and security of the architecture and design of both development and operational systems, including program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes with platform IT interconnectivity.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Possession of one of the following certifications is mandatory:
    • AWS Certified Developer-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Professional
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKAD)
    • Elastic Certified Engineer
    • Elastic Certified Observability Engineer
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering, encompassing requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in system engineering/architecture.
  • Seven (7) years of experience with products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, Hadoop, Acumulo, Big Table, Cassandra, Scality, etc.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience writing software scripts using languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby for automation.
  • At least four (4) years of experience managing and monitoring large Cloud Systems.
  • Experience in providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complete hardware/software systems, including monitoring system health, improving organizational processes, and conducting postmortem analyses.
  • Required expertise in ElasticSearch, AWS, and System Administration or DevOps.
  • Key Skills and Experience include:
    • AWS Commercial Cloud experience
    • Elastic Experience (AWS cloud or other)
    • Puppet/SIMP experience
