Key Responsibilities

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will have the chance to:
  • Oversee, evaluate, and identify cyber incidents and events within information systems and networks under general supervision.
  • Support integrated, adaptive cyber defense, coordinating and maintaining security toolsets to bolster organizations' continuous monitoring and ongoing authorization initiatives.
  • Establish a framework for measuring and quantifying cyber risk in the marketplace.
  • Assess security requirements by analyzing business strategies and needs; researching information security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability assessments; studying architecture/platform; identifying integration challenges; and preparing cost estimates.
  • Implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment; directing the installation and calibration of equipment and software; preparing preventive and reactive measures; creating, transmitting, and maintaining keys; providing technical support; and completing documentation.
  • Validate security systems by developing and executing test scripts. Maintain security by monitoring and ensuring compliance with standards, policies, and procedures; conducting incident response analyses; and developing and delivering training programs.
  • Be accountable for the design, development, implementation, and integration of DoD IA architectures, systems, or system components for use within computing, network, and enclave environments.
  • Ensure that the architecture and design of development and operational systems are both functional and secure, including designs for program of record systems and special purpose processing nodes with platform IT interconnectivity.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Possession of one of the following certifications is mandatory:
    • AWS Certified Developer-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Professional
    • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKAD)
    • Elastic Certified Engineer
    • Elastic Certified Observability Engineer
  • At least eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering, encompassing requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in system engineering/architecture.
  • Seven (7) years of experience working with products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs such as Hbase, Hadoop, Acumulo, Big Table, Cassandra, Scality, etc.
  • At least seven (7) years of experience writing software scripts using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby for software automation.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience managing and monitoring large Cloud Systems.
  • Experience in providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of complete hardware/software systems, including monitoring the technical health of a system, improving organizational processes, and implementing postmortem (failure) analysis and incident management.
  • Required skills include ElasticSearch, AWS, and System Administration or DevOps experience.
  • Key Skills and Experience include:
    • AWS Commercial Cloud experience
    • Elastic Experience (AWS cloud or other)
    • Puppet/SIMP experience
