Job DescriptionJob Description

The Human Resources Administrative Assistant is a crucial role in the success of Heber City. Not only will this be a dedicated payroll and administration position,it will also maintain confidential employee records, collect accurate information, and assist in organizing sensitive data. This position will begin in July 2024 (new fiscal year) with a flexible schedule including approximately 20 hours per work week located in City Hall 75 N Main St.

Primary duties include:

  • Accurate biweekly payroll processing
  • Onboarding new hires
  • Providing input and insight into positive employee functions that may include Holiday parties
  • Track required employee training
  • Ensure legal compliance with federal and local employment law
  • Assist with Worker's Compensation reporting
  • Perform internal audits to ensure accuracy
  • Assist with wage study data and payscale compliance
  • Create employee recognition programs and follow up with anniversary dates
  • Track and assist with upcoming probation release and annual performance reviews

Required:

A high attention to detail

Ability to maintain confidentiality - this is categorically imperative. We are trusted fiduciaries of private information that may include employee relations, finances, payroll deductions, benefits, and medical information.

Strong knowledge of MS 365 or ability to learn

Develop positive relationships with Heber City staff

Preferred:

English and Spanish-speaking fluency

Previous experience in Human Resources

Familiarity with local government


Successfully passing a pre-employment background check and drug screening is contingent on employment.
