SUMMARY:

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of vendor payments. The team member will work closely with purchasing to find and solve any issues related to payments including vendor set up, resolving discrepancies with vendors, and sending payments in the best possible method.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Process accounts payable invoices in SAP Accounts Payable system (purchase order, non-purchase order, and intercompany requests for payment).
  • Manage the payment process (check-run, wire transfer, ACH, etc.) for vendors.
  • Investigate and resolve past due vendor statement balances.
  • Resolve issues in the Docuweb system for any discrepancies in invoicing with the vendors and purchasing department.
  • Review and process expense reimbursements.
  • Verify necessary approvals on non-purchase order transactions in accordance with Purchasing limits.
  • Separate and circulate mail for imaging and Accounts Payable Processing for Docuweb.
  • Review SAP AP Reports (Hold, Price, and Distribution Accounts), identify issues, and work with Purchasing to obtain resolution.
  • Review and clear month-end accrual reports by determining the best course of action to achieve resolution.
  • Apply knowledge of Sale and Use Tax as it relates to manufacturing invoices.
  • Create work instructions for procedures related to accounts payable.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Adhere to all company and accounting policies concerning invoices and payments.
  • Demonstrate the highest ethical standards in managing company assets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Computer and Technology Skills:

  • Microsoft office proficiency
  • SAP experience is helpful

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. German language speaking skills is another advantage.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
