Key ResponsibilitiesThe PRN Respiratory Care Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care in line with departmental needs and established standards. As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will perform various diagnostic assessments and therapeutic interventions while monitoring patients on both invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments, including evaluating breath sounds and airway conditions.
- Administering respiratory therapies, such as oxygen and aerosol treatments.
- Assisting in the placement of artificial airways and managing mechanical ventilation.
- Monitoring patient responses to therapy and taking appropriate actions when necessary.
- Transporting patients who require ventilatory support.
- Responding to emergency situations, ensuring airway management and ventilation during resuscitation.
- Neonate Resuscitation certification required within a specified timeframe of employment.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within a specified timeframe of employment.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within a specified timeframe of employment.
