Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Focus on selling new, used and fleet vehicles while providing an experience for the customer that exceeds their expectations.
· Grow the culture of Five Star Ford that centers on the Core Values – Integrity, Caring, Fun, Self-Discipline, and Continuous Improvement.
· Ensures that all variable department employees are meeting the minimum standards of their job and that managers are using these minimum standards as a coaching tool to improve their employee’s performance.
· Provides feedback quarterly to new-and used-vehicle department personnel during career development sessions.
· Meets with sales managers (new and used) to establish annual and monthly objectives for unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profit.
· Participates in the preparation of the annual dealership forecast by projecting unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profits for the new- and used-sales departments.
· Works with dealer and general manager to determine appropriate days’ supply for new and used vehicles and orders/acquires vehicle inventory accordingly.
· Meets with the general manager to review monthly forecasts, productivity reports, and the profit performance of each department as a whole.
· Studies local market conditions, demographics, and past sales history. Makes recommendations to the general manager regarding short- and long-range advertising plans, sales promotions, staffing needs, lease promotions, and compensation plans.
· Conducts major sales promotions and advertising as needed (i.e., used car classifieds, large new display ads, radio, Internet, etc.).
· Approves all sales incentives in writing before submitting to the office.
· Addresses customer complaints to ensure high level of customer satisfaction.
· Creates systems that ensure ongoing sales training, including weekly sales meetings.
· Audits all D-Plan deals before signing off on D-Plan Checklist.
· Establishes procedures for quick disposal of over-aged vehicles.
ACHIEVING HIGH STANDARDS

· Builds a winning team by recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, coaching, evaluating, and rewarding department employees
· Ensures customer retention and profitability in this profit center by hiring, training, and measuring the performance of salespeople and establishing customer-focused sales standards.
· Ensures that all sales related personnel understand and follow dealership policies and procedures.
· Establishes standards for displaying, merchandising, and maintaining new and used vehicles.
WORKING EFFECTIVELY WITH OTHERS
Working Effectively With Others includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Delegates work as requested to ensure employee and customer satisfaction while developing skills.
· Develops a team atmosphere within the Variable operations.
· Uses coaching methods as the primary way to run the department as opposed to a management method. The difference in the two methods are coaching is asking the employee questions in order for them to figure out what they need to do to be successful versus telling them what they need to do with little or no input from the employee. There is a place for the management technique, but it should be the exception and not the rule.
· Promotes a culture of FUN for our employees and customers through various activities centered on our core value of what fun is.
· Directs and schedules the activities of all department employees, ensuring proper staffing at all times.
· Maintains teamwork in a customer-focused sales environment throughout the sales, delivery, and follow-up process.
· Provides effective communication throughout the Variable operations.
· Coach people on how to handle customer issues.
APPLYING THE BASICS

· Ensures a positive and safe working environment for employees.
· Ensures that sales managers (new and used) understand dealership policies, procedures, and sales systems.
