Our unique clinic specializes in Neuro-Optometry, Vision Therapy, Myopia Management, and Pediatric Optometry, providing advanced care for children and adults facing vision-related challenges affecting their learning, reading, comprehension, and attention capabilities. With a skilled team of eye-care professionals, we offer a spectrum of services including vision therapy, myopia management, neuro-optometric rehabilitation, pediatric care, and more.


The ideal candidate will have a robust background in the medical field, embody exceptional customer service skills, and maintain a high level of professionalism in interactions with patients and staff. As the face of our practice, this position embodies the core values of our establishment, representing our commitment to exemplary patient care on a daily basis. You will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day schedule and ensuring a seamless office flow, creating a welcoming and organized environment for both patients and staff. Your responsibilities will encompass greeting, screening, and scheduling clients, accurate data entry of client information, performing clerical duties related to clinical service, pre-testing patients as needed, and executing other essential medical receptionist duties.


Primary Responsibilities Include:


  • Patient Communication & Engagement:
    • Handling inbound and outbound calls promptly and courteously.
    • Scheduling patient appointments, acquiring a solid understanding of specialty appointment types to ensure patients receive the appropriate care.
    • Guiding patients through the check-in and check-out processes.
    • Extending a warm greeting to patients, creating a friendly and comforting environment.
    • Verifying vision and medical insurance, ensuring patients are well-informed.
    • Accurate maintenance of patient records, ensuring demographic and insurance information is up-to-date and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
    • Managing patient flow to ensure a timely and organized schedule.
    • Collecting payments and ensuring future appointments are accurately scheduled and recorded in patients’ files.
  • Optometric Pretesting/Optical Assistance:
    • Ordering, dispensing and placing orders for contact lenses.
    • Dispensing optical orders including glasses, contact lenses, and related supplies.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Monitoring office inventory and equipment by checking stock levels and anticipating needed supplies.
    • Collaborating with the Practice Manager to place and expedite orders for supplies and coordinate equipment services/repairs.
    • Assisting Optometrists, Practice Manager, Patient Care Liaison, and Myopia Counselor as needed.
    • Processing patient payments and being proficient in financial and insurance terminology.
    • Responsible for balancing and closing the cash drawer.
    • Executing additional clerical duties as necessary.

Required Availability: Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and some evenings.


Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office setting.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an Optometry/Ophthalmology setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR/PM systems.
