Clarendon Vision Development Center in Westmont, IL, is seeking a diligent and dedicated Paraoptometric Technician to join our esteemed Specialty Optometry Practice. Our clinic is a sanctuary for those seeking expertise in Neuro-Optometry, Vision Therapy, Myopia Management, and Pediatric Optometry. A certification is a plus, but for those looking to attain this credential, we've got your back—we'll finance your certification journey


In the role of Paraoptometric Technician, you will be the quarterback of our office flow and schedule, ensuring our team and doctors remain on time to deliver exemplary service to our valued patients. Your journey with us will include:


  1. Optometric Pretesting:
    • Direct engagement with patients, administering key pretests ahead of their exams.
    • Conducting Axial Length, Refraction, Fundus Photo, Topography (when required), Neurolens measurements, and Eye Pressure Measurements using iCare technology.
  2. Contact Lens Training:
    • Assisting both primary care patients and those on myopia management programs with contact lens education and adaptation.
  3. Scribing Support:
    • Seamlessly assisting our doctors during exams, maintaining precise and detailed records.
  4. Myopia Management Assistance:
    • Working alongside the Myopia Counselor in preparing consultation materials, managing patient orders for RX drops, and fostering robust patient communication.
  5. Front Desk Coordination:
    • Working closely with our front desk team and being the friendly face, handling appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and monitoring daily office traffic for smooth operations.
  6. Inventory Management:
    • Take the helm in ordering necessary pharmaceutical products, contact lenses, drops, vitamins, etc., ensuring our clinic is well-stocked and ready to serve our community.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with EMR systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
  • Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Tech is a bonus, though not mandatory.
  • Exceptional multitasking abilities, keen attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to superior customer service.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with doctors, staff, and patients, coupled with a love for working with children.
