Quality Inn & Suites Garden of the Gods is currently seeking an Assistant General Manager to join our growing team  The Assistant General Manager is responsible for achieving budgeted revenue/profits while maintaining operational and service standards.

  • The Assistant General Manager is accountable for achieving budgeted revenue/profits while maintaining operational and service standards. Works within the parameters of the hotel’s mission statement to assure maximum guest satisfaction, a positive work environment for associates and a clean, safe and well-maintained hotel.
    RESPONSIBILITIES
    1.Provides positive direction for assigned operational units in the hotel.
    2.Demonstrates strong leadership and interpersonal skills along with competitive drive and initiative.
    3.Manages hotel departments as assigned and deemed appropriate.
    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    -Ensures brand and company standards are communicated, understood, achieved and maintained.
    -Creates an operating environment that assures consistent guest satisfaction.
    -Monitors the performance of the hotel through verification and analysis of guest satisfaction systems andfinancial reports. Initiates corrective action.
    -Maintains product and service quality standards by conducting ongoing evaluations and investigatingcomplaints. Initiates corrective action.
    -Establishes and maintains a positive employee climate to meet or exceed guest expectations. Maintainsan appropriate level of community involvement.
    -Executes marketing, sales, and operational activities, producing results that meet or exceed the hotel’sbusiness plan.
    -Ensures good safety practices of associates and guests, assisting in the maintenance of properemergency and security procedures.
    -Understands all regulations to ensure the hotel is operated in compliance with all applicable laws,ordinances, regulations, and requirements of any federal, state or municipal authority.
    -Ensures cooperative work environment between all departments; knowledgeable about all fundamentalwork processes.
    -Inspect the hotel to ensure all tour paths and units are ready and standards are being met.
    -Manage vendor contracts, department budgets, labor hours, associate schedules, and associatemeetings.

    - Assists the General Manager with all aspects of operations.
    - Assumes community responsibility in the absence of the General Manager.
    ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    - Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
    - Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
    - Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with guests and coworkers and including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
    - Respectfully takes direction from supervisor.
    - Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures and reports all unsafe activities to supervisor.
    - Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve hotel and company goals.
    - Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills.
    - Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years hotel management experience.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent hotel management experience.

  • A proven track record of meeting budgets, an understanding of P&L statements, budgets, and cost/inventory control.

  • Field management experience preferred and a sales background is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and PC (Windows-based software) skills will be required.

  • Proven track record of service and financial success.
