This is project-based work with an estimated project duration of 2-3 months

We have an upcoming need for a Mortgage Servicing Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide loan reviews for one of our financial services clients. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of loan-level mortgage servicing compliance audits focused on adherence to various servicing requirements and best practices, with specific focus on collections, loss mitigation, and default management. The SME will work with various counterparties to help design the test scope and project implementation, as well as to manage a team of mortgage servicing compliance specialists and quality control specialists. The SME will be responsible for facilitating escalated items identified during the audit, answering questions from the review team, working with internal and external counterparties, and preparation of reports. Other tasks may be required as dictated by the project scope.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project data, documentation, and regulatory requirements to design and implement test scope, questions, and workflow.
  • Apply mortgage servicing regulations, including Federal, State and agency specific guidelines to loan level analysis.
  • Manage a team of 5-10 loan-level reviewers, ensuring quality and consistency of reviews.
  • Create and administer training for loan-level review team.
  • Field questions from internal review team and external counterparties regarding escalated items, review scope, and project status.
  • Monitor project timelines to ensure adherence to service level agreements.
  • Producing timely and accurate results in an independent work environment.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of mortgage servicing or servicing compliance related experience, specifically focused on collections, loss mitigation, and default management.
  • 2+ years of prior management experience.
  • Organized, high attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in time management are required.
  • Robust knowledge of servicing areas including cash management, collections, foreclosure, bankruptcy, loss mitigation, and investor accounting.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of servicing systems such as MSP, Back-In-The-Black, LPS Desktop etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience with critical thinking, analyzing, interpreting, and researching information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality.
  • This is a remote position and requires the ability to work in a home office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate home environment noise.
Pay Range$75—$100 USD
