Optime Care, a Specialty Pharmacy, is seeking a Director of Pharmacy Platform and Data who will play a key role in data strategy and analytics to support internal data initiatives and client-facing data needs. This person will work with client care teams and IT and executive leadership as part of the collaborative solution delivery for our clients and the patients they serve. They will collaborate with the corporate BI Analytics team. The Director will also be responsible for IT Pharmacy Systems and all related IT technology, as well as the creation, management, testing, and deployment of data files to support client integration projects. This role will manage a small team of people to support this business.

This position requires regular weekly attendance at our Earth City, MO office.

What the position will be doing
  • Consult with users, management, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze and define functional requirements for pharmacy systems and determine feasibility within time and cost constraints.
  • Create and manage the data and analytics necessary to run the business and respond to client needs and requests.
  • Create integration solutions with other third-party technology platforms to create a more holistic set of solutions to meet client needs and internal initiatives.
  • Manage a team of IT professionals responsible for the maintenance, update, and support of critical pharmacy management software and systems.
  • Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
  • Confer with clients to determine the nature of the information to be delivered.
  • Manage project plans based on Optime Care and client needs.
  • Understand all HIPAA and HITECH rules and regulations related to pharmacy systems and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain user roles for pharmacy systems and reporting following the least privilege methodology.
  • Develop, document, and revise pharmacy system and reporting standard operating procedures, and process documents.
  • Oversee training of employees on pharmacy and reporting systems.
  • Participate in meetings and patient care conferences.
  • Coordinate the installation of computer programs and systems.
  • Oversee resolution of system-related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems.
  • Ensure adherence to any technology platform and reporting compliance/Service Level Agreements.
  • Assist with reporting, data analysis, and database administration.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary; remain flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.

Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree, or 4-year equivalent, with a major in an IT-related field of study preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of overall experience in IT and managing software platforms.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in pharmacy IT systems.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with pharmacy operations.
  • Preferred knowledge of the Wellsky Programs, mainly CPR+.
  • Preferred Knowledge of Inovalon’s Programs Scriptmed.
  • In-depth SQL knowledge and previous use are required.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g. PowerBI, QlikSense, Tableau).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and HITECH regulations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide solutions to complex problems.
  • A detail-oriented approach with an ability to switch between job responsibilities quickly and seamlessly.
  • Ability to be highly transparent, ethical, and driven. Relentless attention to detail, and the ability to be a creative self-starter and team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within an organization and with partners, vendors, and even clients.
  • Ability to think and act independently, formulate, and support new ideas, and champion new initiatives within and beyond the scope of own responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and especially Excel.
