About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead our AdTech platform team at Electronic Arts Inc. As a key member of our Digital Platform group, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of our Ads platform, ensuring it meets the needs of our business and delivers a seamless experience for our players.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 4-5 engineers, with a goal of growing to 10+ engineers, to develop and maintain the EA AdTech platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Content Management & Delivery, Messaging, Segmentation, Recommendation, and Experimentation, to streamline the Ads workflow.
  • Evaluate the integration of EA's live service solutions, studio tech stacks, and vendor solutions to achieve engineering and business goals efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Develop key components of the Ads lifecycle, including ads network connection, ads marketplace, data exchange, funnel analysis, measurement, and reporting.
  • Utilize massive data sets from 20+ game studios to promote a data-driven decision-making process and experimentation culture.
  • Work with Game Studios, Experience, and Brand organizations to understand their use cases and drive end-to-end solutions to meet requirements.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Privacy teams to ensure compliance directives are strictly followed.
  • Drive the strategic vision and bring the latest industry experience to the team.
  • Drive technical direction, architectural decision-making, and technical roadmaps as an engineering architect.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with 5+ years of experience in managing engineering teams.
  • Experience managing a team of 10+ engineers.
  • Domain knowledge of the Ads industry, including the Ads lifecycle, creative management, inventory management, marketplace, bidding & optimization, data workflow, measurement.
  • Experience with vendor solutions (DSP, SSP, DMP), knowledge of industry-leading solutions and tradeoffs among them.
  • Competencies in algorithms, data structures, and software design.
  • Experience building distributed systems to serve concurrent requests on a massive scale.
  • Experience working with multi-cloud architectures to manage data pipelines across vendors.
  • Experience working with online & offline databases, including columnar databases, relational databases, or document databases.
  • Experience working with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Storm, Flink, Presto, or other data streaming and processing systems.
  • Experience leading projects to deliver impactful customer experiences, including close collaboration with product managers, and directly working with end-users.
