The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the physical infrastructure of a facility. This role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and operational environment. The technician will work with various systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.

Requirements:

Routine Maintenance:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks on HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and building infrastructure.
  • Conduct inspections of buildings and equipment to identify needed repairs and maintenance.

Repairs and Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnose and repair issues with building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Address and resolve general maintenance issues such as lighting, flooring, and basic carpentry tasks.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Perform regular safety checks and report any hazards or maintenance needs.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs.

Emergency Response:

  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and repair needs.
  • Participate in the facility's emergency preparedness and response activities.

Operational Support:

  • Assist with the setup and tear down of facility events as needed.
  • Support other departments with maintenance-related tasks and projects.
  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in facilities maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and standing for long periods.

Work Environment:

  • The job involves working indoors and outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather.
  • The role requires physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Must be available for on-call duty and emergency response as needed.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, if necessary.
