IP Litigation Paralegal

Location: Redwood Shores, CA (hybrid)

Pay: $90-100k depending on experience


We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced IP Litigation Paralegal to join a top law firm in their Redwood Shores office. The ideal candidate will manage intellectual property cases and transactions, prepare and review legal documents, and support our attorneys in all aspects of IP litigation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Case and Transaction Management:
    • Manage IP cases, transactions, and databases.
    • Draft, review, and prepare legal documents related to intellectual property.
    • Conduct due diligence and research for IP matters.
  • Technical and Filing Proficiency:
    • Exhibit technical skills consistent with Firm technology.
    • Proficient in filing procedures and jurisdictions.
    • Provide training to new hires on relevant procedures and technology.
  • Document Management:
    • Monitor dockets and organize filed documents.
    • Review documents for privilege and responsiveness.
    • Oversee document numbering and labeling, track numbering gaps, and maintain complete sets of production/privilege documents.
  • Court and Hearing Support:
    • Assist with preparation of court filings, service of documents, and expert reports.
    • Prepare for hearings, fact and expert witness depositions, and expert reports.
    • Plan and organize for trial hearings and arbitration, including witness binders, presentation materials, and trial aids.
    • Track time at trial, distribute witness binders, and assist attorneys with document distribution.
  • Database and Material Organization:
    • Retrieve, rename, and organize materials.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases and indices.
    • Complete pretrial and trial projects, such as exhibit lists, deposition designations, and trial witness preparations.
  • Team Collaboration and Project Management:
    • Utilize departmental training resources.
    • Manage projects and deadlines independently and within a team.
    • Provide input on training needs and performance.
    • Complete discovery projects, including document reviews, productions, and privilege logs.
    • Ensure work quality standards and deadlines are met while working effectively under pressure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required and paralegal certificate preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in legal research and document management software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
