Job Purpose:
The Human Resources Generalist assumes a variety of tasks to support a variety of tasks with corporate HR for Vacatia, Inc. and its entities. The HR Generalist role, through a customer centric approach, will share the responsibilities for goals and targets of the Human Resources department.
Job duties and responsibilities:
Primary areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work closely with corporate HR Director on day-to-day HR operations
- Manage and assign all JIRA tickets, following up with HR/payroll team members to ensure accuracy and timely completion
- Acts as point of contact for team members for any HR related questions and distributes as necessary
- Proactively support the delivery of HR processes
- Build a strong business relationship with internal clients
- Actively identify gaps, propose and assist in implementing change necessary to cover risks
- Assist in the performance improvement driver and enforce positive change
- Help monitor the company culture
- Administer HR related documentation, maintain HR records
- Actively identify gaps, propose and assist in implementing change necessary to team members and confidential files
- FMLA/LOA, workers comp & unemployment administration and expert
- Provide policy and procedure guidance to both internal and external clients
- Assist in benefit administration and knowledge, including health, retirement
- Experience with FMLA and LOA’s
- Responsible for all management reporting, and updating relevant HR and payroll systems, as needed
- Lead the administrative functions as they relate to HR/payroll
- Assist with recruitment and employment references, as needed
- Position is a fully remote position
- Any other tasks as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications include:
- Minimum of 5 years of generalist experience for a multi-State employer
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Federal, multi-State and local employment laws
- Prior demonstrated experience with all levels of employee relations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build long-term business relationships
- Highly organized, and able to multi-task
- A high level of confidentiality and be highly trustworthy
- Strong attention to detail
- Fluent in English, good level of literacy and numeracy
- Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills
- Proficient with HRIS/payroll software, preferably Paylocity
Working Conditions:
This position is 100% remote. Must be available regular business hours in working time zone employed. Must possess a stable, high-speed internet and working cellular telephone. Must be able to routinely perform indoor work with minimum noise levels. Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct the work activities of self and others, as necessary. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence, naturally or electronically and may include adaptive aids. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
Physical Requirements:
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 8 hours per day. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities, as may be occasionally asked to travel to sites or events. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
