ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Product Acquisitions Account Representative solicits product donations from assigned donors and provides regular call/poundage reports. This role involves building and maintaining strong donor relationships, identifying new donor opportunities, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure accurate recordkeeping and timely pickups.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Donor Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for assigned donors, providing timely customer service and applying complaint resolution skills as appropriate. Make contact (written and verbal) with potential and lapsed donors, initiating a minimum number of outgoing calls to potential, current, and lapsed donors. Conduct regular follow-ups with donors to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns. Identify potential new donors through online research and outreach, leveraging online platforms to discover and track donor location, items, and points of contact. Foster and maintain strong partnerships with donors, identifying lapses in donor services and recommending improved partnership strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices to serve donors better and support product acquisition efforts. Maintain and update donor records, ensuring all information is accurate and complete. Provide timely and accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Interdepartmental Support: Collaborate with the Logistics and Operations teams to ensure all pickups occur as scheduled, apprise donors of schedule modifications, and log all information relating to the MPUs. Work closely with Agency Relations and IOC teams to ensure the sourcing and receipt of specific items as requested. Transfer calls and emails for potential Extra Helpings donors to Agency Relations. Provide quality assurance checks for incoming products as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required; some college or vocational courses are highly desirable.
Minimum of three years of experience in sales and/or customer service roles.
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Knowledge of math concepts with the ability to create and use spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
The ability to speak and write in Spanish is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and using various media such as phone, email, text) for effective interaction with donors and staff.
Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software is highly desirable.
Solid understanding of donor/customer relations and effective strategies for engagement and retention.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a keen attention to detail.
Commitment to teamwork and providing exemplary customer service with the ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds.
Goal-driven with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate difficult situations professionally and escalate to leadership as necessary.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Valid CA Driver’s License and access to a reliable and insured vehicle. Required to travel within Los Angeles County. May be scheduled to work at either facility in Los Angeles, CA, or the City of Industry, CA
May need to commute between Food Bank facilities in Los Angeles, CA, or the City of Industry, CA
