This is a Carlsbad onsite based role.

Job Overview:

We're excited to find an experienced Formulation and Sample Management Associate who brings both practical skills and technical expertise to our preclinical service lab. In this dynamic role, you'll be at the heart of our formulation, fill, and finish activities, playing a key part in preparing a wide range of test articles for both non-GLP and GLP preclinical studies. Your attention to detail will be essential as you meticulously document every step of our manufacturing processes, ensuring everything runs smoothly and to the highest standards.


Other skills will include:

  • Receive, document, and upload all necessary information for incoming test articles, substances, and reagents into the database (eQCM), and maintain accountability records.
  • Order excipients and supplies for test and control article formulations, ensuring proper storage and sampling per Study Protocols.
  • Ensure appropriate storage and labeling of test articles, including cell therapy products and specimen samples, while keeping updated records.
  • Prepare and document test article dosage solutions/suspensions, following instructions, SOPs, and study protocols.
  • Maintain and characterize mammalian cell lines for use in in-vivo studies as control or test articles.
  • Support CGT projects by producing injectable forms of cell-gene therapy products for in-vivo testing.
  • Handle the shipment of formulation samples and specimens in compliance with IATA regulations.
  • Ensure the return of test articles from completed studies to the sponsor as needed, per Study Protocol.
  • Respond to Quality Assurance audits of preparation procedures and calculations.
  • Maintain inventory of reagents, test articles, vehicles, and samples.
  • Operate and calibrate general lab equipment.
  • Dispose of chemical hazardous reagents in accordance with California regulations.

What We're Looking For:

Skills and Experience:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant lab experience in biology or chemistry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expertise in calculating molarities, weight-to-volume, and weight-to-weight ratios for complex formulations.
  • Ability to plan and execute fill-and-finish tasks based on demand and product requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt in a dynamic team environment.
