We are bidding on a contract supporting the Fort Johnson Network Enterprise Center.

This is contingent upon a successful contract award to Oneida Technical Solutions.

Job Title: Systems Administrator I

Location: Fort Johnson

Clearance Level: Secret Clearance Required; must be eligible for T5 investigation

Compliance: Must comply with DOD 8140 requirements

Job Summary:

The Systems Administrator I will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems, particularly in a military environment. This role involves providing essential IT support, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues to ensure the integrity and availability of information systems at Fort Johnson.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Maintenance and Monitoring:

    • Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
    • Review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
    • Manage and maintain all installed systems and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance.

  • Troubleshooting and Support:

    • Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users to resolve system-related issues.
    • Document issues, resolutions, and processes for future reference.

  • Configuration and Management:

    • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
    • Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
    • Manage software updates, patches, and security configurations.

  • Security and Compliance:

    • Implement and maintain security measures in accordance with DOD 8140 standards.
    • Ensure systems are compliant with organizational security policies and procedures.
    • Conduct regular audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.

  • Backup and Recovery:

    • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.
    • Ensure data is backed up regularly and can be restored in the event of a system failure.
Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 2+ years of experience in systems administration or a related IT role.
    • Experience in a DOD environment is a plus.

  • Certifications:

    • Must meet DOD 8140/8570 certification requirements (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent).

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of system administration, including hardware, software, and networking.
    • Proficiency in Windows/Linux server environments.
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, providing support to other IT staff.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
