ROLE
Kaimetrix is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior System Administrator to provide IT system administrator support at Fort Belvoir, VA. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in administering Windows or Linux environments, proficiency in virtualization technologies, and a deep understanding of cloud computing platforms. This role requires a strong background in system administration, architecture design, and leadership to oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of cloud-based systems.. 

We will support INSCOM's mission by delivering products and services that enhance readiness and sustain Soldiers, Civilians, systems, and facilities. Key support activities include Program/Project Management, Network Engineering, Data Visualization, Cloud Engineering, System/Program Administration, Operations Research/Systems Analysis, Data Platform Analysis, System Evaluation, Test/Data Engineering, Full Stack/System/DevOps Engineering, System Engineering, and Distributed Processing, and Exploitation and Dissemination - Converged Infrastructure (DPED-CI).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • System Administration:

    • Administer, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux environments.
    • Deploy, configure, and manage complex Linux environments.

  • Virtualization and Cloud Computing:

    • Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
    • Extensive experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
    • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of cloud-based systems to meet performance, availability, and security requirements.

  • Automation and Scripting:

    • Utilize scripting languages like Python or Shell scripting for automation tasks and deployment processes.

  • Leadership and Collaboration:

    • Guide and lead a team of administrators.
    • Collaborate with other stakeholders to drive strategic decisions and continuous improvement in the cloud environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Strong experience in deploying, configuring, and administering complex Linux environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Shell scripting.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to guide a team of administrators.
  • Current DoD Approved Baseline Certification at IAT Level II or Higher.
  • Computing Environment Certificate - Linux.
  • Current DoD TOP SECRET Security Clearance and SCI Eligible.
  • Must meet DCWF 451 workforce qualification requirements at the Intermediate Level or higher.

EDUCATION
  • BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science with 5 years of experience administering Windows or Linux environments.
  • OR 7 years of experience administering Windows or Linux environments.
LOCATION
  • Fort Belvoir, VA  22060
CLEARANCE
  • U.S. citizenship is required since this role supports the U.S. Federal government
  • Ability to pass a background investigation
  • Current DoD TOP SECRET Security Clearance and SCI Eligible
TRAVEL
  • No travel required
WORK HOURS
  • 40 hours per week
  • 8 hours per day
EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION
