Be a part of the OTF team in Brooklyn Our Brooklyn- Park Slope studio is looking for an Assistant Manager to manage a first-class team of group fitness trainers/coaches, sales associates, and customer service staff The studio is a high-spirited, health conscious environment with great energy focused on making positive and meaningful differences in the lives of people in our community.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Meet and exceed all sales goals and revenue-related key performance indicators (particularly new memberships, closing rates, renewals, and attrition)
- Recruit, hire, train, manage and develop staff
- Develop and maintain constructive and effective working relationships with clients/staff
- Lead all promotional, guerilla marketing, lead generation, and sales efforts, including:
- Strategizing with ownership to increase sales, expand market and promote business
- Operating preview center prior to studio opening
- Street team tactics (flyer distribution, sign spinning, flash mobs, etc.)
- Engaging with local schools, businesses, and sports & community organizations
- Outbound telephone reach; cold calling
- Digital and social media promotion
- Follow up and follow through with all prospective clients
- Lead OTF studio tours with prospects and/or fitness program holders
- Establish and maintain an effective customer referral program
- Set sales goals and conduct daily follow-ups with Sales Associates regarding attaining sales goals
- Train Sales Associates regarding best sales tactics and closing techniques
- Maintain accurate records using established OTF sales systems
- Effectively communicate with ownership, supervisors, peers and subordinates in a timely and efficient manner
- Resolve conflicts, complaints and/or negotiate resolution with others and provide staff with guidance in responding to problems and resolving escalated disputes.
- Guide and direct staff, including setting and monitoring performance standards and evaluating staffs job performance and making personnel recommendations
- Work closely with Trainers/Coaches to ensure that members always have first-class experience
- Build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among staff
- Attend and participate in all relevant OTF training programs
- Participate in minimum of 1-2 OTF scheduled workouts per week
- Must have a passion for people and fitness
- Must be attentive, outgoing, positive, friendly, engaging and team-oriented
- Must have extensive sales experience, preferably in the health/fitness area
- Must be willing to enthusiastically sell and close deals
- Must be a self-starter
- Must have outstanding communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to work as a team with Sales Associates and Trainers/Coaches
- Must be flexible and willing to work weekends
- Must have basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Health- and fitness-minded applicants are preferred
- High school diploma is required
