Who we want:


The Sr. Manager, Shared Services will oversee the implementation and coordination of the United Way for Greater Austin’s Shared Services Alliance. This will include managing the Shared Services team members to meet program goals for center support. You will partner with diverse community stakeholders, work directly with childcare providers to solve systemic challenges in the sector, and help the alliance to stay on the cutting edge of childcare center support.

What you’ll do:

  • Regularly convene and communicate with the Shared Services Advisory Committee, Alliance Members, and other stakeholders, including regularly updating timelines, goals, accomplishments, and setbacks and raising critical issues in a timely fashion.
  • Manage ongoing Implementation of recommendations from the stakeholders on incorporating business back-office supports such as business coaching into shared services in Austin/Travis County.
  • Conduct outreach and recruit childcare providers to participate in shared services.
  • Create necessary project structures, timelines, communication plans, etc., to include short-term and long-term milestones.
  • Co-create the annual program budget with the Sr. Director of Early Childhood Center Services
  • Oversee relationship with child care management software contractor(s) and alliance use of CCMS tool.
  • Ensure continued progress toward project goals, meeting deadlines, and completion of deliverables.
  • Respond to feedback and changes in the operating environment or system landscape to adjust goals, timelines, etc.
  • Make decisions on how to move the project forward and on implementation with stakeholder input.
  • Supervision and management of Business Coaches, HR Support and Staffing Services Manager, and Resource Coordinator
  • Hire and manage consultants and additional staff within budget constraints, as needed.
  • Maintain project records and materials.
  • Coordinate with other United Way departments, including Resource Development and Marketing & Communications, to explore potential connections and collaboration opportunities for maximum impact.
  • Communicate with childcare providers in the community to ensure shared services are beneficial and welcome.
  • With support from the United Way Director of Data and Evaluation, ensure program outcomes are designed and evaluated, including data collection and analysis, monitoring, and reporting performance outcomes.
  • Familiarize yourself with shared service models from other regions to bring ideas and best practices to the group.
  • Apply research to planning for continued quality improvement of Shared Services Alliance to adjust to local needs and policy changes.
  • Support Mission Advancement Team’s collective efforts to fight poverty in Austin/Travis County.
  • Participate in appropriate organizational meetings and events.
  • Other assigned tasks as needed
