The Director of Finance will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company. This role will involve strategic planning, financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting to support the company's growth and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of financial management in a small business environment.


Key Responsibilities


1. Financial Strategy and Planning:

Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s goals and growth plans.

Provide financial insights and guidance to the CEO and senior management team.

Oversee the development and management of annual budgets and forecasts


2. Financial Management:

Manage financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and compliance.

Monitor and analyze financial performance, and provide actionable recommendations.

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.


3. Cash Flow and Capital Management:

Oversee cash flow planning and management to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.

Develop strategies for managing working capital and optimizing cash reserves.

Evaluate and manage financial risks, including investment opportunities and financing options.


4. Financial Reporting and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders, including the board of directors and investors.

Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.


5. Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.

Implement best practices in financial processes and systems.

Oversee financial training and development for staff as needed.


6. Operational Support:

Collaborate with other departments to align financial management with overall business strategies.

Support operational decision-making with financial analysis and recommendations.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
  • 5+ years of prior experience as a CFO or in a senior financial management role, preferably in a small or mid-sized business.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial software and systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior management and other stakeholders.
