Job Description

The Worker’s Compensation Case Manager (WCCM) oversees management of workplace injury care for our clients in SC. The WCCM is knowledgeable of the SC Workers’ Compensation laws and OSHA guidelines. The WCCM provides clear and concise communication with the many different companies that utilize WellStreet services for workers compensation and occupational health. The WCCM will work directly with the Sr. WC Case Mgr., Work Comp Coordinators, Client Relations Teams, Regional Medical and Area Clinical Directors, and Clinical Staff Members to ensure WellStreet meets its goal of producing high quality, patient-focused health care services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaison between medical providers and clients - communicating diagnosis of the injured worker, care plan, and the return to work (RTW) plan
  • Communicate directly with company contacts to manage workers’ compensation and occupational health needs
  • Provide assistance for clients, providers, insurance adjustors, and staff members in a timely and efficient manner
  • Manage all active claims to assess progress/response to treatment, prevent lapses or delays in treatment, obtain regular updates on work status, and facilitate injured worker’s RTW
  • Understand and able to communicate OSHA regulations and SC Workers’ Compensation laws
  • Participate in prospective client facility tours
  • Perform job site evaluations/summaries to facilitate the case management process
  • Take call after hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • Occupational Health Nurse, Paramedic, MA, RN, or LPN licensure
  • Certified Workers’ Compensation Professional (CWCP) preferred
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills across varying professional levels (company contacts, patients, providers, clinical staff, and senior leadership)
  • Building and maintaining cross-functional relationships
  • Remarkable organizational skills and documentation skills, focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-starter, great work ethic, able to work independently, as well as with others
  • Positive and energetic team player
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
