As a Senior Accountant, you'll be responsible for cash receipts, managing the accounts payable process, financial statement audit support, ad-hoc projects, and assisting the CFO and Controller with financial reporting for the Board and key stakeholders. Key Functions Of Senior Accountant:
  • Month End Journal Entries Prepare various month end Journal Entries as required for month end close.
  • Accrued Expenses Determine, post, and maintain quarterly and annual expense accruals.
  • Financial Statements and Annual Audit Assist with the creation and maintenance of our annual report, including statement and footnote disclosures. Assist with the annual external audit.
  • Maintain Fixed Assets Properly account for the addition and the monthly maintenance of fixed assets including the booking of depreciation.
  • Federal and State Tax Returns Assist with review and completion of tax returns and associated tax liability accruals.
  • Property Tax Filings File all required county property schedules as well as any other government required filings.
  • Invoice Processing Process invoices in a timely manner; responsible for contacting vendors or employees as needed to investigate questions on invoices. Prepare check/wire requests with the appropriate general ledger account and cost center coding for approval.
  • Vendor Maintenance Set up vendors in the system. Request W-9's for new vendors and gather/input all information necessary to remit payments and prepare 1099's.
  • Cash Receipts Processing Scan checks for deposit into the bank account and key cash journal entries for the scanned deposits. Assist with the monthly report of cash receipts by collecting & scanning monthly statements associated with receipts, matching deposits with statements, and researching unidentified direct deposits.
  • Credit Card Statement Processing Maintain the monthly file of receipts submitted by card holders for purchases on company credit cards and request/collect missing receipts from card holders. Match receipts to the monthly credit card statement and code the statement for approval by the Controller.
  • Expense Reconciliation Reconcile expense payments to the detailed invoice and internal reporting for cost allocations.
  • Annual Budget Entry Assist the Controller with input of annual and long-range budget information into the general ledger system as needed as well as tracking actual to budget variances.
  • Various Projects One off projects as requested by CFO and Controller.
  • Complete cross-training and assist with other operational functions as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years broad accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook required)
  • Team player, self-starter, multi-tasker, success oriented
  • Working knowledge of Sage Intacct is a plus
