Wood River Health is now hiring for a Clinical Coordinator to support our growing medical department. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the administrative management of the medical assistants and related staff. The Clinical Coordinator plays a major role in supporting the mission of the health center within the community, enabling staff through tracking of education and schedule supervision to develop, implement, and maintain the delivery of high-quality medical care. The Clinical Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Nurse Managers and clinical leadership to develop managing office workflows and procedures in compliance with RIDOH including patient outreach and clinical data capture. Key expectations will be the uninterrupted operations of the primary care teams, and reliable completion of various procedures around chart data/information aligned with Wood River Health’s strategic goals.

Clinical Care Coordinator essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for managing, organizing and supervising attendance of the Medical Assistants and timely completion of their required learnings.. Nurse Managers are responsible for clinical supervision.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels in a fiscally responsible manner necessary for uninterrupted patient care during hours of operation.
  • Assists with the development of patient encounter cycle processes – efficiency - to address quality gaps, facilitate Pre-visit planning and huddles, and ensure that each member of the team works at the top of their license.
  • Identifies with Nurse Managers, and tracks ongoing needed education and documents maintenance thereof per RI Department of Health expectations and medical assistant certifications when present
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor staff within functional areas of responsibility, including schedule management, encouraging resilience and a positive workplace environment
  • Conducts regular performance reviews with RN Managers and provides feedback on administrative performance to staff.
  • Performs and/or participates in competency testing of staff (within training /expertise and scope of duties). Examples of this may include training on EMR workflows and day to day non-clinical job expectations.
  • Inform corrective actions and facilitate follow-up of problem resolution of issues, problems, and concerns.
  • Verifies and authorizes time sheet approval for payroll processing.
  • Develop and implement tracking mechanisms for department related in-service training activities for medical department employees.
  • Works collaboratively with the Chief Medical Officer to evaluate data and implement change to improve Quality indicators and Quality Measures where nonclinical work is needed.
  • Works in collaboration with the Nurse Manager to facilitate group visits for chronic care patients.
  • Complies with federal and health center requirements in the areas of protected health information and patient privacy.
  • Operate within the scope of the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act to safeguard the privacy of protected patient health information.
  • Participate in community events representing Wood River Health
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters
  • Enliven and support the mission, vision, and values of Wood River Health
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and Wood River Health Compliance Program Standards
  • Performing other duties as assigned to meet business needs

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Track and in some cases train and supervise employees within functional areas of responsibility. Evaluate non-clinical performance and regularly provide feedback.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Combination of healthcare-specific managerial education, experience, and training may substitute for the Bachelors
  • Managerial experience in a community health setting is preferred, other experience as a manager may be relevant
  • Experience in supervisory roles or other management is required
  • Must be organized and thorough while also keeping fellow employees and customers satisfied
  • Ability to effectively use MS Office Suite, Internet, and email
  • Cultural sensitivity necessary to work with a diverse patient and staff population

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:

  • CPR Certification, required
