Procurement Specialist I

The Procurement Specialist I will report to the Procurement Manager and will focus mainly on locating procurement opportunities to expand our selection of equipment to our customers and fulfill customer equipment needs. There will also be collaboration around the company purchasing strategies, and opportunities for market research to further enhance those strategies.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist I:
- Procuring equipment through our vendor equipment directory
- Locating equipment opportunities for current and future customer needs
- Keyword database management
- Add new keywords from various print and electronic sources
- Modify keywords to optimize application efficiency
- Vendor Communication (Including Sending Offers, Negotiating and Follow-Ups)
- Other Procurement duties as assigned by Procurement Manager
Knowledge/Experience/Skills:
- Excellent email and phone communication
- Ability to work independently
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Comfortability with initiating strategic equipment purchase transactions on behalf of the company with vendors, auction houses, and other 3rd party marketplace platforms
- Comfortability with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to learn new software tools, and engage in discussions around improvements and ideas
Full-Time Position:
- Flexible Schedule
- 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday at our facility in Champaign
