The Clinical Manager aids the Managing Director in the daily clinical operations of the facility, serves as the patient advocate championing the patient/family through their fertility experience. The Clinical Manager performs clinical leadership duties within the practice including supervision of the clinical staff in accordance with established federal, state and accreditation regulations and guidelines, as well as established company policies and procedures. The Clinical Manager supervises patient care activities in the clinic setting and is responsible for staff development, orientation and education. This individual will make recommendations to Managing Director for staff discipline and performance management and is accountable for the delivery of performance management in collaboration with Human Resources and Managing Director. The Clinical Manager serves as the liaison between the physician and the clinical staff to drive change management and process improvements within the practice. This role specifically provides instruction on clinical process flow, implementations, change management and collaborates with other departments within the practice to ensure seamless process changes.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Aids the Managing Director in establishing, implementing, and evaluating the quality and standards of patient care in conjunction with medical staff and clinical staff.
  • Evaluates nursing staff documentation and patient care through review of medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with clinical protocols and processes according to established regulatory and company guidelines, actively participates in survey preparation and survey process.
  • Ensures that appropriate credentialing activities are conducted and documented for all staff or other medical or clinical person(s) prior to performing procedures at the center.
  • Participates in plans to identify compliance risk areas and address any compliance issues, as appropriate.
  • Establishes and oversees a system to ensure adequate supplies of controlled drugs, supplies, instrumentation, and equipment are available to meet patient needs 100% of the time, within budgetary constraints.
  • Coordinates appropriate use of human and material resources, being mindful of budgetary constraints.
  • Provides adequate staffing coverage 100% of the time.
  • Responsible for scheduling staff based on clinic patient volume and budget.
  • Assures worked FTE ratio is within approved budget or appropriate justification/approval is provided.
  • Cancels staff appropriately according to established protocol when schedule is light to ensure work/life balance for team and remain within budgetary limits never compromising patient care.
  • Actively leads employee development, evaluation, and performance management of clinic staff within the practice.
  • Communicates with leadership and physicians to drive process improvements.
  • Oversees clinical care teams and can assist in clinical care when needed.
  • May aid in management and growth of the donor program.
  • Develop and implement needed clinical SOPs/policy and procedures throughout the practice.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
  • Assists with the coordination, case management and treatment of our fertility patients as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Current BLS required. BSN preferred. Minimum two (2) years of clinical management
  • Leadership experience strongly preferred including scheduling of staff, regulatory compliance and supervisory responsibilities
  • Demonstrated track record of superior clinical care within a physician practice.
  • Must have working knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance policy (i.e., HIPAA, AAAASF).

  • Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly around complex issues.
  • High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information.
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency.
