Job Summary:   To oversee the operations and development of the full-line vending company.  The Markets Manager will solicit new business regularly and maintain contact with all current and potential customers in our operating area.

The Markets Manager will coordinate with the CEO and the Chief of Operations on bids and proposals for all major accounts, commission structures, equipment needs, and personnel needed to operate and grow the full-line vending company.

Reports To:     Chief of Operations Iowa

Essential Job Functions:
1. To keep informed of all new products available and add or delete from our product list as sales dictate.
2. To apply for and monitor all rebate programs from major manufacturers.    
3. To monitor inventory levels so that an adequate supply is maintained and stale and out-of-date is eliminated.
4. Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager on storing and loading all products to ensure product freshness and minimize shrinkage.
5. To assign accounts to routes and set up sequences and frequencies for the accounts to be serviced.
6. Maintain the service sequence and frequencies on routes so they are always accurate, reflecting the most efficient service schedule.
 7. To keep informed of competitive pricing and adjust ours as necessary.
 8. To inspect vendors periodically for cleanliness, product mix, and merchandising, and conduct audits regularly on each route.
9. To train route sales merchandisers and ride with them regularly.
10. To communicate with all large accounts regularly.
11. To review all accounts periodically and move equipment from low-volume non-profitable accounts to higher volume more profitable ones.
12. Monitor and carry out a one-year action plan.     
13. To post-sales quotas and assist route sales merchandisers in setting goals.  Develop positive attitudes among employees.
14. To hold regular monthly meetings with route sales merchandisers to discuss all new opportunities and changes.
15. Perform 6-month and yearly performance reviews on all route sales merchandisers.
16. Ensure all personnel are properly instructed in safety policy and procedure.
17. Solicit new accounts on a regular basis.
18. Assist route sales merchandisers in setting up new vendor placements.
19. Adequately train new hires and ensure they receive ongoing training.   
20. Collect A/R where required for rentals and receivables.
21. Be available and capable of performing physical functions which will include lifting or moving loads of 50 lbs. or more and pulling non-power-driven carts of product weighing up to 2500 lbs.
22. Know, understand, and implement company safety policies and procedures, including the use of proper load-lifting techniques, etc.
23. Promote cooperation and communication between all departments, always encouraging that the primary goal be customer satisfaction.  
24. Other assigned duties include:
  • Constant awareness of cost-cutting alternatives.
  • Maintain a current file on each salesperson
  • Periodic weekend on-call
  • Assist in the development of new sales routes as necessary
25.  Any other task that would help in the efficiency and cooperation of company business.  Everyone is part of the "Team". There is no room in this company for a "that's not my job" attitude.  We will all work together to get the job done.
26. Must have regular and reliable attendance.
