These services assist corporations and their distribution network to optimize trade promotion funds and leverage branded marketing assets and programs, such as digital advertising, to drive local demand.
The Director of Finance will oversee all financial activities, strategies, and operations to ensure the company’s financial health and sustainability. This role involves managing budgets, financial planning, analysis, reporting, and risk management. The Director of Finance will work closely with executive leadership to drive financial performance and support business growth.
Essential Functions:
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company goals and SAAS business model.
- Lead the financial planning process including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.
- Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision making.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Analyze key metrics (e.g. ARR, MRR, customer acquisition/retention cost) to monitor business performance.
- Present financial results to the executive team, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Development and maintain financial dashboards and KPIs for real-time monitoring of business health.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to develop realistic financial plans.
- Continuously update financial forecasts based on actual performance and changing market conditions.
- Monitor budget adherence and variances, recommending corrective actions as needed.
Risk Management and SSAE 18/SOC2 Management
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Oversee audits and tax filings.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Oversight of engagements and internal activities related to SOC2/SSAE18 examinations.
Cashflow Management
- Manage the company’s cashflow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Optimize working capital and investment strategies to maximize returns while minimizing risk.
- Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely collections and payments.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster professional development.
- Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and to achieve organizational goals.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within Saas or tech company.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, pricing, forecasting, and analysis. Experience with Saas-specific financial metrics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
- Strong understanding of the Saas business model, including subscription revenue, customer lifecycle, and related financial metrics.
