Job Summary: Handles FedLine/Catalyst Wires, Due-From Intraday Balancing, Accounts Payable Processing, Prepaid and Fixed Assets. Handle all CU Backup Withholdings. Monitor and balance daily GL Exception report. Provide month end support backup for the Lead Accountant. Other duties in support of the Accounting Department as assigned. General ledger reconciliations as assigned and journal entries into general ledger system record retention and storage.

Essential job duties:
  • Handles all FedLine Advantage and Catalyst Wire operations.
  • Maintain all of Domestic and International Wire Log.
  • Processes all accounts payable invoices and maintains vendor files and adhere to company AP Policy.
  • Maintain Fixed Assets Ledger, performs monthly calculations and postings.
  • Process year end 1099 MISC vendor tax reporting and IRS filing.
  • Handles the daily balancing of the corporate checks registers and all related GL's. Reconcile and re-class outstanding checks for one year to new GL.
  • Backup in processing branch cash orders through FedLine and handles creating new cash schedules.
  • Backup in preparing/submission of cash orders for branches to FRB and lobby ATM in LA Mall.
  • Prepares and submits CU Backup Withholdings.
  • Assist in handling Accounting department record retention and storage.
  • Reconciles Escheat GL and works with the Processing Department to submit funds in June.
  • Responsible for annual filing of L.A. County Assessor's personal property reporting (571L).
  • Prepares and reviews general journal entries on assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Reconciles assigned accounts on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Adheres to monthly general ledger closing/reconciliations schedule and meets all deadlines.
  • Performs all of the above duties accurately and timely in compliance with Credit Union policy and appropriate regulatory statutes.

    • Help on Loan Participation
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant and/or AVP Controller.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Previous Credit Union and/or financial experience a plus.
  • Minimum three-year prior accounting experience required.
  • Good math, transaction analysis, organizational and verbal communications skills required.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Personal computer literacy with various Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
