Job Title: General Manager

Job Summary:

The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations at the hotel, day-to-day staff management, and guest satisfaction. The GM should be an ambassador for the brand and the hotel, and provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments. The GM is responsible for managing an excellent guest experience and is required to manage between profitability and guest satisfaction measures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set the tone for maintaining a friendly, attentive, and service-oriented demeanor in all interactions with guests and hotel staff.
  • Lead by example and foster open communication between leaders within the hotel staff, promoting a high-quality staff that is aligned with the high level of guest service that is expected.
  • Accurately manage financials, P&L, and payroll to maintain profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with local and state requirements for licensing and permits.
  • Maintain security and safety systems within the property and ensure that proper inspections and maintenance are attended to.
  • Drive property-wide improvements within staff training and development to ensure top-quality guest services and drive consistent guest returns.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, employees, and other departments.
  • Communicate ideas, development goals, and tasks to team members effectively and maintain timely follow-up to delegated tasks.
  • Be proactive in addressing issues within the property and be attentive in arriving at a solution before the disruption of hotel functions occurs.
  • Create analysis assessments of data and information from multiple sources to arrive at solutions that will be beneficial to the business.
  • Receive concerns and issues from hotel guests and staff in an attentive, professionally focused manner.
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks to the most qualified staff members.
  • Ability to produce financial results in line with budgeted objectives.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years in General Manager role required.
  • 1+ year brand experience required.
  • Select Service hotel experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Hotel Management, Business Admin, or similar field is preferred.
  • Strong management skills of large teams.
  • Developed time management skills.
  • Proven ability to drive Guest Service Scores and profitability.
  • Prioritize multiple competing tasks.

Salary Description: $105,000 - $115,000
