General Summary:

Daily Instruments is seeking experienced Production Expediter to join our rapidly growing production team. The Expediter is a critical role within the organization, responsible for the flow of materials, parts, and components within the manufacturing workflow process to ensure production schedules, shipping deadlines, as well as required documentation is satisfied. This position plays a key role in the smooth operation of the production process. The successful candidate will have a keen attention to detail, be highly organized, as well as the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor production schedules that are in process and adjust as necessary to meet changing demands and prioritize urgent orders,
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials between various production teams, ensuring the timely completion of production orders,
  • Foster a positive, safety focused culture while ensuring tight production demands are met,
  • Collaborate with production planners, supervisors, and other stakeholders to assist with planning and scheduling of production activities,
  • Track and manage inventory levels, ensuring that materials and supplies are available when needed and minimizing production delays,
  • Communicate production status, delays, and issues to relevant stakeholders, including management, sales teams, and customers,
  • Identify bottlenecks or potential delays in the production process and propose solutions to improve efficiency and meet deadlines,
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including work orders, production reports, and inventory logs,
  • Continuously evaluate and improve production processes and procedures to maximize productivity and minimize waste

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional professional certification or training in production planning or supply chain management is a plus; Bachelors degree in Engineering, or another relevant degree also preferred,
  • 1 - 3 years previous work experience in similar role, i.e. Production Planning, Production Scheduling, Procurement Expediting experience strongly preferred,
  • Strong Project Management skills, with fluid priorities,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical terms,
  • Working knowledge of inventory management systems and production planning software
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills in data analysis and problem-solving
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement concepts is desirable,
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required to meet production deadlines

Supervisory Duties:

  • None

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-driven initiative to respond to fluid work environment and rapidly changing priorities
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks (as needed)
  • Enthusiastic team player, Creative thinker, focus on bottom-line results while managing for Total Quality EHS Compliance

Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to maneuver about to routinely monitor all production processes in a crowded, busy fabrication work environment,
  • Ability to carry, handle equipment, tools, components used in production process to accommodate rush orders or meet priorities.
  • Must be able to lift, handle, move up to 50 pounds at a time.

Other:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer other than current employer
  • Must be fluent in English with ability to communicate highly technical terms/ideas; any other language skills are beneficial
  • This position requires constant movement to monitor and inspect production work in process, but may require the physical ability to work in a busy shop/warehouse environment including sitting, standing, lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, frequently.

1:30 pm – 10:00 pm
