Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented engineer with 10 years or more of hands-on knowledgeable experience to develop and optimize our fleet of robotic and automation systems for cost-effective use in processing a multitude of production processes and across multiple, unique parts and assemblies. This person must be fluent in adapting to a variety of software packages and to create access to multiple machine data packages while able to conceptualize, design, select components, implement, and test electronics and software control, create Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and automated management reporting tools and interfaces, and appropriately document the solutions and revisions. This individual will be a participant in the identification of opportunities, and the design and development of solutions. You will collaborate with departmental and corporate leadership. To be successful, you should excel in solving problems, exploring, learning, and creating complete and documented solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collecting machine data and communicating with multiple devices through Telit DeviceWise or other integration platform.
  • Conceptualizing, designing, selecting components, implementing and testing electronics and the software control of automated processes, along with Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) and management reporting tools, especially related to manufacturing.
  • Working with and solving problems within multiple vendor’s software languages and devices.
  • Write and debug part specific automation programming
  • Support and improve robotic and automation systems within metal fabrication, machining and assembly processes
  • Supporting new part additions and making modifications to existing automation.
  • Participate in the factory and/or site acceptance testing for projects integrated from outside vendors
  • Participate in the system control design and development for new automation solutions
  • Work closely with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve issues and provide technical support

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • 10 years’ of engineering experience
  • BS or equivalent in relevant engineering field.
  • Able to work within a team atmosphere.
  • Advanced coding skills using a scripting language
  • Understanding and functional knowledge of PLC’s, low voltage controls, three phase power distribution, vision systems. Electronic sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics and robotics
  • Design and application knowledge of ergonomic and machine safety standards
