Summary:

We are seeking a high energy, detailed orientated, problem solver, experienced seller to help drive growth for our division of sales in life, disability, and long-term care insurance. The Director will help grow the sales division and lead a team of employees in selling a variety of insurance products. This position is responsible for providing proactive sales support and driving the expansion and optimization of our insurance division. This is a chance to play a key role in evolving the sales team while developing and maintaining effective relationships with business partners and other business areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Insurance Solutions are accountable for success across the company
  • Be a consultative business partner to our members and prospective members on life, disability and long-term care insurance product
  • Work with VP - Insurance Solutions to implement a strategy for distribution that is consistent with new and existing member sales and meets business needs.
  • Establish a multi-year execution roadmap in distribution of our products and services, including team and technology investments to support business objectives.
  • Utilize established and innovative approaches, tools and partners to enable efficient, deliberate and robust growth in line with business objectives.
  • Drive sales team towards achieving/exceeding sales metrics.
  • Generate strategic and innovative ideas to drive new business development.

Qualifications

  • Ability to conceptualize, design and implement end-to-end sales strategies
  • Result-driven with ability to establish credibility among varied audiences
  • Understanding of DPL financials, with the ability to deliver results within financial parameters
  • Knowledge, experience and strong capabilities in contributing and/or building (i) traditional distribution channels (ii) expanding and tapping new source of business and distribution channels
  • Structured approach towards aggressive revenue generation while balancing those capabilities with profitability
  • Excellent organizational skills, effective time management, strong leadership, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Execution oriented with track record of success
  • Strong interpersonal, management and teamwork capabilities
  • Open to 50% travel

Education and/or Experience

  • A bachelor's degree required. MBA, or related master's level degree is strongly preferred
  • Candidate must have, or be able to secure, licenses in life & health insurance.
  • Prior experience in leading and developing teams
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in life & health insurance sales
