Position Summary: The Global EHS Specialist will assist with driving EHS improvements globally across the organization. The ideal candidate will: (i) implement and monitor the Global EHS Management Systems to ensure continual improvement and compliance according to internal and legal requirements; (ii) manipulate, analyze, and communicate EHS data to identify EHS trends; (iii) provide, sustain, and improve the policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements around the globe; and (iv) support the Global EHS team with initiatives through development of materials, compliance tool management, training and audits.

NOTE : This is a Hybrid position based in the Charlotte area, North Carolina, or in Argentina, specifically within the provinces of Salta, Catamarca, or Jujuy, as these locations are in close proximity to our operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise to support global Arcadium Lithium personnel as needed to achieve an injury/incident free work environment.
  • Serve as key administrator of Cority, creating reports, dashboards, employee assistance, and monitoring system updates.
  • Analyze and communicate EHS key performance indicators (KPIs) including trends and leading and lagging indicators.
  • Provide training support, guidance, and assistance to personnel in all levels and departments through administering training and developing supporting training materials.
  • Assist with the management of Global EHS supporting compliance tools, services and programs such as ENHESA, International SOS and Pure Safety.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Global EHS SharePoint sites.
  • Collaborate with the EHS Operations team and site leadership to develop tools and techniques; help managers and employees to manage Global EHS initiatives.
  • Monitor regulatory changes around the world to ensure Arcadium Lithium policies and procedures remain current.
  • Support site management teams to ensure local policies, procedures, and programs effectively meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in cross-functional EHS audits of company facilities and ensure adequate follow-up and remediation of issues are identified.
  • Provide expertise and support for the development of site and corporate leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators to allow measurement, analysis, planning, and improvement in the global operations as part of the EHS Management Systems.
  • Lead and support the development of Global EHS projects and initiatives including Safety Campaigns, Standards, document translations, and Safety Shares.
  • Enable global support through meetings, which could occur outside of base location’s normal working hours.

Education and Experience

  • University Degree/BS is preferred or EHS certification with 5-8 years of experience supporting a manufacturing facility with ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Fluent in English and Spanish required, French desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, and PowerBI
  • Experience in a global, multi-plant manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to influence direction across a complex global organization.
  • Strong project management skills along with strong program development and proven training experience
  • Must be able to work at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal guidance and actively pursue goals to meet deadlines.
  • Strong track record of delivering quality, on-time results that meet or exceed the organization’s needs.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
  • Experience in continuously maintaining skill level to keep knowledge current.
