Major Roles & Responsibilities

Purpose: The purpose of this position is to ensure that all inventory related duties in the storeroom, and replenishment of hospital and departmental supplies are completed each day in a timely manner, as well as other various department tasks.

  • Runs daily reports to assess purchasing needs for the hospital and is the backup to the Materials Management Director when the Director is out.
  • Works with Storeroom/Laundry Clerk to assure an adequate supply of linens are maintained in laundry room and replenishes as needed.
  • Helps Storeroom/Laundry Clerk keep track of outgoing laundry weights and enters data into Excel Spreadsheet Log.
  • Helps deliver clean linens when needed.
  • Reports laundry issues to Vendor (Penn) as well as Materials Management Director.
  • Handles print jobs and padding.
  • Helps with restocking of Outlying Departmental Supplies that are received via Pyxis Report and Electronic Requisitions when needed.
  • Helps Restock Inventory once it is received into system, making sure to rotate stock and check for outdates / short dates.
  • Helps label patient chargeable supplies once received into the system, as well as repacking supplies as needed before being placed on the shelves.
  • Responsible for doing, and recording cycle counts on all inventory and reporting any discrepancies to Director of Materials Management.
  • Helps to maintain proper par levels of inventory items.
  • Helps maintain cleanliness of storeroom, including sweeping, taking out trash (including empty boxes).
  • Assists in yearly inventory process, Department Meetings, and on the job training (Mandatory for all Department Employees)
  • Occasional weekend or overtime shifts may be required.
  • Hipaa Confidentiality required.

 

Academic, Certifications, & Trade Qualifications

  • High School Diploma performed or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
