The hourly rate for this position is $20 - $25/hr depending on your experience and qualifications. Essential Purchasing Assistant Functions:

  • Act as a key liaison between different departments and branches regarding purchasing related activities
  • Support in issuing purchase orders to suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers
  • Ensure purchase orders are consistently updated with notes and relevant details to keep the sales team informed of progress
  • Proactively identify, research, and address challenges that emerge throughout the purchasing life cycle
  • Keep sales updated of any situations impacting customers’ orders
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors
  • Hold suppliers accountable for performance in quality, cost, on time delivery, and support
  • Review price discrepancies with vendors and sales
  • Work closely with relevant departments to ensure products purchased are in line with the needs of the company
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative working environment with sales, warehouse, customer service, and management staff to ensure positive results-oriented outcomes

Requirements

Well Qualified Purchasing Assistants Should Possess:

  • Authorized to work for any US employer. We do not sponsor and use E-Verify.
  • Purchasing experience is preferred
  • At least 1-3 years of work history in an office setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must be committed to providing outstanding customer service and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills (Bilingual Spanish is a plus)
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and comfortable working independently
  • Experience with SAP software (preferred but we can train the right applicant)
