Job DescriptionJob Description

STR is seeking a highly motivated individual with federal government finance experience to lead a growing Pricing team. The Pricing Manager will report to the Director of Program Finance and will be responsible for all aspects of cost proposals including analyzing proposal solicitation requirements to preparing for the final submission of the cost volume. Additionally, the Pricing Manager will focus on pricing strategy for all proposals to help maximize value. The Manager will also focus on enhancing the current processes and developing key reporting metrics to support Company growth and scalability.

This position requires a high level of collaboration across the Company. The Pricing Manager will interact with internal customers, including the Contract's team, Proposal Managers, and other key stakeholders.

Leadership of these activities is critical to STR's financial goals and important work for a company that has an impact on national security in science & technology development and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the pricing team and prioritize cost proposal activities.
  • Provide end-to-end pricing support for all contract type proposals.
  • Review solicitations and define upfront the costing requirements working with the proposal team.
  • Oversee efforts to collect, summarize, and analyze financial cost data necessary to prepare cost proposals.
  • Prepare proposal risk, profitability, and cash flow analysis to help inform Senior Management.
  • Make key proposal recommendations to the Leadership Team.
  • Partner with Contracts, Procurement and Subcontractor teammates to provide pricing guidance.
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations as it relates to cost or pricing data.
  • Review cost proposals for fully compliant submission.
  • Manage multiple proposals at one time with tight deadlines.
  • Establish and develop best pricing practices and train/grow the team.
  • Develop an STR Pricing Manual to use as the basis of all future proposal efforts,
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading a small team and preferably a Pricing team.
  • Ideal candidate will have worked in a Government Contracting environment, specifically working on proposals.
  • Experience with proposal pricing tools, preferably PROPRICER.
  • Ability to collaborate, communicate, and coordinate effectively and in a professional manner across the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills which support strategic data interpretation.
  • Proficient organization skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to work independently and in a team environment to meet deadlines.
  • Decision-making skills reflecting sound judgement while complying with policies and procedures.
  • Self-motivation and thirst for knowledge to drive efficiencies and improve processes.

Additional Requirements

  • Educational requirements: Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; MS or MBA preferred
  • Years of experience: 7+ years total Pricing, Accounting and Finance experience including management of a team. Preferable to have defense contracting industry experience.
  • Location: Hybrid in the Boston, MA area
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance for which U.S. citizenship is required
