As experts in aviation and transportation, Connico assists owners, architects, engineers, and planners with cost estimating, scheduling, planning, and project management.
We are looking for an Architectural Cost Estimator at a Specialist level for airports and other heavy construction projects.
Position Responsibilities:
- Quantify and price materials and labor for structural and architectural building construction, value engineering, and life-cycle cost analysis
- Visualize, plan, and estimate architecture and structural costs at a rough order of magnitude level without 100% of detail and documentation
- Understand mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and electrical aspects of the project and coordinate with those disciplines to assure complete scope coverage
- Communicate, solicit, and interact with sub-contractors in various trades to obtain pricing
- Train and mentor others on technical and non-technical topics, sharing knowledge through the company.
- Lead and manage an internal team to achieve project goals on projects, including on-time delivery of deliverables, producing reports which meet Connico’s core values and high standard of quality, utilizing and training other Connico staff, communicating project changes or challenges to the company, and bringing the project in on budget.
- Maintain or assist in maintaining client relationships and assist in maintaining client relationships through regular client interface, both on projects and through interaction not related to projects.
- Balance a diverse workload.
Position Requirements:
- Four-year degree from an accredited institution in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying and estimating, or related field, or equivalent knowledge required.
- 6+ years cost estimating experience required.
- Ability to interpret architectural, civil, and engineering drawings and specifications (both at high levels of design and at the planning stage), quantity takeoffs and models, and architectural and engineering reports is required.
- Familiarity with estimating software programs, such as On-Screen Takeoff, Timberline, MII, or Success is required.
- Proficiency in estimating in CSI Masterformat and UniFormat and knowledge of common terms in estimating is required.
- Proven track record of managing, leading, and creating estimates on major projects, including responsibility for timeliness of deliverables, management of budget, integrating elements from multiple divisions, and professionally communicating with clients is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including, but not limited to: Teams, Excel, Outlook and Word is required.
- Certification, including CCP, CPE, RICS, CEP, or PE is required.
- Experience in the aviation market is highly preferred but not required.
Connico offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes a salary range starting at $110k with bonus opportunities as well as continuous growth opportunities. Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This is a full-time hybrid position (in office T, W, TH) or a full-time remote opportunity for the right candidate.
