Are you passionate about fostering a positive work environment and promoting a culture of dignity and respect? Join our client as an HR Generalist In this pivotal role, you will support the HR Director in various HR functions, including employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, policy development, employee communications, full employee life cycle management, performance management, HRIS system maintenance, and training/development. As the first point of contact for valued team member questions and concerns, you will coordinate closely with both the safety department and recruiting team.


What you will do:

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Assist in developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract diverse talent
  • Conduct reference checks and background screenings
  • Coordinate and facilitate new employee orientation and onboarding processes

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution
  • Promote a positive work environment by addressing employee issues with empathy and respect
  • Support conflict resolution processes and facilitate mediation sessions as needed

Performance Management

  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance management systems
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance evaluation processes
  • Support the creation and delivery of employee development plans and training programs

Training & Development

  • Identify training needs and coordinate employee development initiatives
  • Research and organize training opportunities that foster a culture of continuous learning and employee development
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and recommend improvements
  • Facilitate company employee committees

Policy Implementation

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and regulations
  • Assist in the development and communication of HR policies and procedures
  • Monitor and update employee handbooks and policy manuals

HR Metrics & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases
  • Generate HR reports and metrics to support decision-making processes
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends and recommend proactive measures


What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in an HR generalist role, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry
  • Openness to working onsite as our employee population is fully onsite
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS, preferably ADP, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
