POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operational Excellence Manager is an integral part of the site leadership team and having the ability to work and influence across all levels of the organization will be critical to the success of this role. This position is responsible for driving a culture of sustainable continuous improvement, operational excellence and delivering on business goals and objectives. They will also provide detailed instruction and guidance on corporate Lean initiatives while executing continuous improvement initiatives. These initiatives will be achieved using various methods such as Plan Do Check Act, Kaizen, Waste identification/elimination and other Lean methodologies, tools, and techniquesKey Responsibilities- Assist in facilitating lean activities including kaizen events, lean training events, standardization implementation, process mapping, and CIR development sessions
- Facilitates quality systems, continuous process improvement, and safety initiatives in accordance with Lean thinking throughout the organization
- Responsible for advancing company metrics
- Regularly reviews lean performance expectations with leadership teams across the organization, providing expectations, performance planning, training & development, and performance discussions
- Manages day to day quality management system (CRM) This includes
- Day to day management of quality concerns, communication updates, improvements and more
- Assist renter team is spec alignment visits, both through in person and online meetings
- Resource for Lean tool usage
- Participate in projects for Ops and Renter Team
- Lead/facilitate projects, compressive report outs, root cause analysis & problem solving activities
- Collaborate internally and externally to resolve operational challenges for improved supply chain solutions.
- Other duties as assigned
- This position requires 3-5 years of Lean experience in logistics, warehousing or manufacturing
- Understanding of basic Lean principles
- Capability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
- Warehouse or Plant Management experience
- Safety & Security
- Business Management Skills
- Planning - Strategic and/or Tactical
- Quality Management System Knowledge
- Data Analysis and computer Skills
- Microsoft Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Access, Project
Travel:
Position requires 50% travel, building relationships, negotiations, accountability and collaboration both externally and internally.
