Summary

  • Position Summary: As a Sales Development Representative, you will be responsible for engaging potential customers, new or returning, and moving them along through the sales pipeline, scheduling personalized design consultations for holiday lighting installations, and being the first point of contact for anyone reaching out to Holiday Light Co. You will also collaborate with the installation crew and administrative staff to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Job Type: Full-Time.
  • Compensation: The Sales Development Representative will receive a guaranteed $20 - $25 per hour, depending on experience (see below) effective the full first day of employment.
  • Room to grow in a fast-growing company, with numerous roles to move into with time


Responsibilities 

  • As the first point of contact for a customer, it is your job to determine what the customer needs, and assign that to the correct department while documenting all necessary information. 
  • Manage a large number of clients and potential clients, and take ownership of a sales pipeline.
  • Qualify new leads in order to push them further along in the sales pipeline. 
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of service offerings, features, and benefits.
  • Present price quotes, address customer questions or concerns, and assist them through the decision-making process to secure sales.
  • Document job details and special notes for the installation crew using company software.
  • Conduct sales activities including prospecting and developing opportunities in large/strategic accounts.


Skills

  • CRM experience (Zoho preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confidence in presenting price quotes and closing sales (virtually)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a schedule efficiently


Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of sales, CRM, and/or customer service experience.
  • Proven track record in a customer-facing role (virtually), preferably in virtual sales such as call centers, etc. 
  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver's license.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with home improvement sales or related industries.
  • Associates or bachelor's degree 


Competencies

  • Proficient in engaging potential customers with enthusiasm and professionalism
  • Capable of meeting or exceeding assigned targets and goals
  • Skilled at fostering referral relationships in the local area


Term of Employment

  • The term of employment for the Customer Development Representative will follow the cyclical nature of the holiday lighting industry and will also encompass the ongoing commercial sales efforts throughout the year:
    • In-Season (Now to December): The Customer Development Representative will focus on residential sales and achieving the seasonal targets.
    • Off-Season (January to August): The Customer Development Representative will concentrate on commercial sales and other opportunities for continued growth.


Work Environment 

  • Work with a small team of office staff every day, on-site. You will have a chance to engage with the crew members and field operations team daily, if desired.
