Situational Analysis:
The Finance and Human Resources Assistant supports the goals of the Finance and Human Resources department by providing administrative support and coordination of financial and Human Resources activities and duties.  The Assistant will report to the Controller and will also have direct interaction with the leadership team and the plant personnel.  This position is key support for day-to-day accounting functions and provides support to the controller for Human Resource management as well.  Th Assistant engages with all areas of the business and will have a direct impact on the company’s performance. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily accounts payable processing from invoice matching to payment processing.
  • Process monthly charge card activity by entering charges into the accounting software and reviewing receipts for accuracy.
  • Accounts receivable management including invoicing and cash posting.
  • Support month end by analyzing spending, preparing accrual entries in Excel and reconciling cash. 
  • Assist the Controller by preparing the bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Assist with maintenance of department administrative procedures and processes.
  • Create and maintain employee and benefit vendor files.
  • Assist with annual benefit plan renewal and enrollment.
  • Assist in the planning and organization of staff training and engagement activities.

  • Must be organized and able to manage daily, weekly and monthly deadlines with strong attention to time management skills.

  • Strong results orientation and work ethic.

Experiences / Qualifications:
  • Accounting / bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience in Accounting or Human Resources.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excel user
  • Relevant experience in payroll preferred.
