Responsibilities of the Medical Billing Manager:
  • Manage and supervise the medical billing team, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with billing standards and regulations.
  • Review and process medical claims accurately and efficiently, maximizing reimbursements and minimizing denials.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances to optimize cash flow.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Analyze billing data and prepare reports for financial analysis and decision-making.
Requirements of the Medical Billing Manager:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in medical billing/ AR and Collections management or a similar role within a healthcare setting at the leadership level.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, coding systems (such as CPT, ICD-10), and billing
  • practices.
  • Strong understanding of medical billing practices, coding, and reimbursement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
