As a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS), ABA Limited Permit holder at Behavior Plan Licensed Behavior Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supervising and guiding individualized behavior programs for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and related developmental disabilities in natural settings. This mid-level supervisory position involves direct coordination with caregivers and the clinical team to ensure program efficacy, provide education, and support developmental progress, under the direct supervision of our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

Your dedication will be key in implementing behavior intervention plans designed to enhance the quality of life for our clients, helping them achieve their personal goals through consistent and compassionate intervention strategies.


+ Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and adapt individualized programs in natural settings for children with ASD.
  • Schedule and conduct supervision to evaluate program effectiveness, make observations, collect
  • data, and educate parents.
  • Assume BT responsibilities when necessary.
  • Coordinate with direct care team members to observe sessions, offering coaching and clinical
  • support.
  • Analyze data and reports from the care team to update programs according to each child’s progress
  • and goals.
  • Write goals and create treatment plans under the direct supervision of BCBA’s
  • Meet billable hour requirements per case, ensuring client and staff needs are effectively supported
  • while maintaining service area efficiency.
  • Complete necessary daily documentation by the end of each session, including overlap checklists,
  • progress/discharge reports, and initial assessment.
  • Conduct minimal monthly progress meetings for families and participate in staff training, meetings,
  • and program planning.
  • Ensure staff understand their roles and responsibilities, promoting accurate and timely data
  • collection.
  • Monitor submitted technicians documents for efficacy, including but not limited too daily session
  • notes and incident reports.
  • Stay informed on behavior analysis research and developments.
  • Utilize behavior skills training to teach staff how to implement individualized behavior intervention
  • plans, focusing on skill development, behavior reduction, and social engagement.
  • Collect and input accurate data on client and staff behaviors and progress, conducting ongoing
  • assessment and adjustment of treatment plans.
  • Develop and maintain positive behavioral practices to foster skill development and support
  • individual goals.
  • Travel with and maintain company supplied materials to and from clients place of service.
  • Respond to behavioral escalations or urgent situations by following BIP and/or Crisis procedures.
  • Build and maintain positive, therapeutic relationships with staff, clients, and their families,
  • supporting them in their journey toward achieving personal milestones.
  • Train new hire’s in the principles of ABA and basic job requirements.
  • Attend all scheduled sessions and follow attendance policies and procedures.
  • Participate in regular supervisory and team meetings to review client progress, receive feedback,
  • ensure the fidelity of program implementation, and learn about new policies and techniques.
  • Supports in performance reviews and disciplinary action plans of directly supervised staff when
  • necessary
  • Supports in caregiver meetings
  • Adhere to the ethical guidelines and standards of practice set forth by the Behavior Analyst
  • Certification Board (BACB).
  • Adhere to HIPAA and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Renew RBT certification annually, maintaining 5% supervision log, and communicate about
  • certification status for renewal to clinical team.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete all administrative and billing responsibilities by due dates.

+ Working Conditions


Hours of work:

Full-time/Part-Time position with a schedule that fits within the company’s operational hours of 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM, Monday

through Sunday.

Flexibility is required to meet the needs of clients and their families, with potential evening and weekend hours.

Holiday work may be available if both staff and client families agree, allowing for flexibility and consideration of personal and client needs.


Ongoing Training and Supports:


Behavior Plan is committed to the continuous professional development of our staff.

Monthly training sessions are conducted to enhance skills, discuss new ABA research, and review best practices.

Annual training sessions focus on comprehensive skill development, ethical practices, and advanced ABA techniques.

Regular supervision ensure that BTs receive the guidance and support needed to succeed in their roles and support great team culture.


Work environment:

Services are provided in the client's home or community settings, such as preschools and after-school programs, to support real-life learning and application.

The role requires traveling to these locations, offering a dynamic and varied workday that aligns with the natural routines of our clients.


Special conditions or requirements:

Multiple Client Management: Ability to efficiently manage and transition between multiple clients daily, maintaining high quality service and individualized attention.

Severe Behavior Support: Engage in additional training to handle severe behavioral issues safely and effectively, employing advanced strategies to manage and mitigate challenging behaviors

Requirements:

+ Qualifications

  • Completed Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or related field (REQUIRED)
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician certification from the BACB or 40 hour training certified (preferred).
  • Active Graduate Permit for New York State or ability to get one (REQUIRED)
  • Experience in applied behavior analysis and working with individuals with developmental disorders.
  • Strong analytical, observational, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing environments and client needs.
  • Experience working with children and/or individuals with disabilities.
  • Reliable mobile device for data collection and analysis
  • Valid Driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and own vehicle to transport you to your sessions or
  • reliable access to public transportation.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Mus pass a background check
  • Ability to travel to clients’ homes
  • Ability to modulate energy levels to align with the needs of each client, ensuring engagement and
  • effective interaction. This includes dynamically adjusting to high-energy clients requiring active,
  • stimulating activities, as well as providing calm, focused attention for those needing quieter, more
  • sedentary interaction.
  • Ability to be in a seated position for periods of time up to 2 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS.
  • Ability to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing)
  • for extended period of time.
