Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special needs? As a Behavioral Intervention Specialist, you will provide individualized behavioral support to children and their families.
Your primary responsibility will be to execute Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) strategies as outlined by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Clinical Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional ABA services to children and families by following tailored treatment plans developed by BCBAs.
- Engage in continuous professional development through initial and ongoing training to enhance your skills as a Registered Behavior Technician.
- Participate in parent education sessions to empower families and improve their overall quality of life.
Please note that the responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive and may evolve over time.
Qualifications:
- RBT or CBT certification is mandatory.
- A minimum of 12 college credit hours in ABA, Psychology, Education, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree is highly desirable.
- CPR/First Aid/BLS certification is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
It is essential to ensure the safety of students, which may involve implementing crisis intervention procedures when necessary. The role may require the ability to lift children weighing over 35 pounds and to navigate potentially challenging situations.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position, typically scheduled from Monday to Friday, with hours from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Supervision by a BCBA is available for those pursuing BCBA certification, and training in crisis prevention and intervention will be provided.
