About the Role:

AHRC Nassau is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Intervention Specialist - Level 2 to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Services department, you will play a critical role in providing behavioral health services and positive behavioral supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide behavioral health services and positive behavioral supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities under the supervision of an Assistant Director of Psychology, BCBA, and Ph.D.-licensed psychologist.
  • Support and train staff on Positive Behavior Supports for adults with ID/DD.
  • Develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans to maximize the intellectual, social, and emotional development and functioning of individuals receiving services.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for individuals.
  • Provide ongoing support to individuals in becoming active participants in every aspect of their lives and ensure a high quality of life is maintained.
  • Travel to multiple locations daily as required.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree from a program in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology, or applied psychology.
  • SCIP certification and training experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
