Job Summary

This position is responsible for serving as an assistant to the Development department. Duties include managing volunteers assisting with fundraising events, projects and supply drives for the Statesville campus, as well as Salesforce data entry and processing for gifts-in-kind, endowments, trusts and tribute gifts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities:

Volunteer Intake:

  • Review volunteer applications, screen, and e-file.
  • Enter application data into CRM database (Salesforce).
  • Help with coordination of volunteer events and meetings.

Operations Support:

  • Gift-In-Kind intake/database entry and processing.
  • Hope Closet organization and upkeep.
  • Scanning trust/named endowment/daily income to Laserfiche.
  • Tribute card processing at Christmas (if available).
  • Gift look-up for gift entry at Christmas (if available).
  • Database projects as requested.

Marketing/Communications Support:

  • Maintain Development Closet, print collateral, inventory, and reorder process with DOD.
  • Take photos at fundraising events and other development functions for marketing purposes.


Development Support:

  • Provide as needed administrative support to the CDO and DOD.
  • Work as a liaison between program staff and the cultivation team to determine program needs and keep Development team up to date on those needs. Needs may include gift in-kind items, food for holiday parties or our Christmas Angel Program.
  • Maintain marketing closet, print collateral, inventory and reorder process with direction of DOD.
  • Assist development officers with display and collateral preparation.
  • Assist with the Christmas Angel Program. Includes gathering child wish lists, managing donor matches, gift pick-up and delivery as well as sorting prior to the Christmas holiday.
  • Assist with mailings & donor packets, supply drives, and events.
  • Assist on annual fund stewardship processes such as birthday cards, etc.
  • Contribute to department meetings, follow department procedures and practices. Other tasks as requested by supervisor.

Supervision responsibilities:

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Knowledge/Required Skills/Abilities (Core Competencies)

  • Frequent weekend and evening engagements (1-2 Saturdays a month on average and some evenings)
  • Candidate must be customer service oriented and possess a willingness to represent the agency to the public
  • Must be detail-oriented, have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be culturally sensitive to children and families and support cultural diversity throughout the program
  • Must also be adept at Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Non-profit experience is preferred
  • Experience with Salesforce/CRM a plus
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by agency insurance carrier
  • Must submit to and pass pre-employment checks, criminal records check and DMV/MVR check
