Mercy Ridge Retirement Community in Timonium, Maryland is seeking a full time Activity Coordinator to join our team This position is 9am to 5pm, with some flexibility. Occasional weekends and late evenings are required.

Under the supervision of the Director of Life Enrichment, the Activity Coordinator is primarily responsible for the development, organization, coordination and implementation of comprehensive services and programs which enrich the lives of each resident in the Assisted Living Facility.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for implementing and supervising designated programs and activities for the Assisted Living facility, engaging speakers, entertainers, community outreach groups, and serves as a liaison between dining services and operations department for set-up and clean-up of resident activities.
  • Responsible for the planning and production of the monthly calendar, Ridge review, and daily updates, publicizing programs for residents and staff.
  • Responsible for the in-direct supervision of part time activity assistants.
  • Assists with recruitment, orientation, and coordination of volunteers in AL & IL.

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will have experience coordinating activities for the senior population.
  • College graduate or equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Position requires a minimum of one year experience in activity planning, preferably in a health care environment.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office. Experience creating calendars and flyers is essential.
